Brookfield voters approved a $61.5 million budget at Tuesday’s referendum, the News Times reports.
According to the paper, roughly 22 percent of the town’s registered voters came out for the referendum.
On the school side of the budget, more people said the 2.44 percent increase from last year’s budget was too low compared to the number of people who said it was too high or adequate combined, the paper reports. A refunding of bonds will generate $820,000 that will go towards rebuilding the fund balance.
