Webster Bank Near 4 Corners Robbed Wednesday Morning

White male makes off with undisclosed amount of cash.

At 9:13 Wednesday morning, Brookfield police responded to a panic alarm at Webster Bank on Federal Road, just south of the Four Corners intersection. A white male, between 5’ 10” and 6’, made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

There are no suspects at this time, however bank cameras caught footage of the robber and Brookfield police have put out requests to neighboring departments in an attempt to identify the man.

According to Police Major Jay Purcell, the man, who was wearing a black hat and brown shirt, entered the bank, approached the teller and verbally demanded the cash. He subsequently fled on foot, with no getaway vehicle in sight. There were no other customers inside the bank at the time and all of the employees survived unharmed.

Purcell said that there was a customer at the drive-thru window and police have been able to contact that person.

Police received reports that the man fled behind the bank and officers responded directly to that scene with a K-9 unit, however the trail went cold.

There was no weapon shown, according to Purcell, however “his body language looked like he might have had a weapon,” he stated, and photos indicate that he may have had a weapon in the waistband of his pants.

Brookfield police detectives and evidence techs were still on scene as of this afternoon and the bank branch remains closed.
