Survey To Help Canton Replace Retiring School Chief
The online survey is available for the public to weigh in through Oct. 21.

CANTON, CT — With longtime Canton Superintendent of Schools Kevin D. Case expected to retire in June 2023, local school officials are asking the community for input regarding his replacement.
As a result, the Canton Board of Education has set up an online survey for folks to weigh in on the search.
Canton Board of Education Chairman Louis M. Daniels issued a letter to the community this week notifying them of the survey.

"The purpose of the survey is to gauge the community's perspective on the qualities, experiences and characteristics desired in a new superintendent," wrote Daniels. "We encourage all community members to participate."
He said the survey is anonymous and is actually being conducted by the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE).

The online survey, being done through the Survey Monkey website, will be available until Oct. 21.
Daniels said the feedback will be part of a "leadership profile" to help board members find a new school chief.
He said the local school board would be sharing the results of the survey at a special meeting slated for Wednesday, Nov. 9, with meeting details and a location yet to be announced.
Case announced in June that he was retiring after a 37-year career in education, including 17 years leading Canton schools.
He said he was giving nearly a year's notice to give the school board plenty of time to conduct what is expected to be a long and extensive superintendent search.
