Canton Community Fund at Greater Hartford Gives Now Accepting Grant Applications

Applications are open and due by Sept. 30

The Canton Community Fund at the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation announced today that it is now accepting grant applications for projects that strengthen the wellbeing, vibrancy, and resilience of the Canton community. Applications are open and are due by Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 11:59 pm.

The committee makes grant recommendations to the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation.

In the 2025 general grant cycle, the Fund awarded over $49,491 to11 local organizations, with individual grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. These awards supported programs that expand access to services and strengthen the fabric of Canton.

In addition, based on recommendations from the Canton Committee, the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation awarded $15,000 to two organizations providing basic human needs in essential needs awards in 2025.

Since launching Community Funds in 2019 in each of the 29 towns it serves, including Canton, Greater Hartford Gives has supported more than 1,000 grants totaling more than $4 million (through the end of 2025) - funding projects that directly benefit town residents and reflect community priorities and lived experience. The program began with a $100,000 investment per town in 2019 and has continued with additional investments in 2021 and 2025, including funds available for immediate grantmaking and long-term endowment.
