Letter to the Editor Regarding Saving Satan's Kingdom in Canton

Canton resident says no one spoke in favor of the developer's proposal to build at Wednesday's public meeting.

A Letter to the Editor from Tim Healey:

“The meeting was very well attended, with people standing at the back of the auditorium. The roster of citizens who wished to comment on Mr. Borghesi’s proposal went to three pages. Only people on the first page got to speak at the meeting, and the remainder will get to do so at the next meeting, on October 15. After a presentation by Mr. Borghesi, the public was invited to speak. NO ONE spoke in favor of Mr. Borghesi’s proposal. In addition to expert testimony from ecologists, a professional real-estate appraiser, civil engineers and water scientists, citizens objected strongly to the proposal from many different perspectives. The EDA recommended a Design District concept be explored instead of the rezoning the applicant desires. The day after the meeting, Neil Pade remarked to me that he was impressed with the quality of the testimony and related materials submitted to the commission to help it make its decision, noting that it was not what he usually sees in these situations.”
