Man Charged With Holding Woman at Knifepoint
The man is being held on $500,000 bond, while the woman was reported to be in stable condition at a hospital.

NEW HARTFORD, CT — A man allegedly held a woman against her will at knifepoint and bloodied her in a wooded area of New Hartford Wednesday night, resulting in a brief standoff with police and his arrest on nearly a dozen charges and imposition of a half-million dollar bond.
Around 9:55 p.m., state police were notified a woman was being held in a wooded area off Southeast Road. Upon police arrival, the woman was found bloodied and being held at knifepoint. After a brief standoff, the suspect surrendered his knife and was taken into custody, a police report said.
Robert Murphy, 56, of New Hartford, was charged with first-degree assault, violation of a protective order (two counts), threatening (two counts), carrying a dangerous weapon, interfering with an officer, second-degree breach of peace, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree unlawful restraint and simple trespass.

The female victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, where she was listed in stable condition, police said.
Murphy is slated to be arraigned Thursday in Bantam Superior Court.
