Cars Burglarized, Stolen Overnight In Cheshire: Police
Police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles… and don't leave the keys in the car.

CHESHIRE, CT — In the wake of more car burglaries and thefts in town, Cheshire Police are reminding residents to lock their doors at night to avoid becoming a victim. Police say that despite the arrests of four people earlier this week, eight cars had items stolen from them and two cars were stolen during the overnight hours on Wednesday.
“The one commonality in all the thefts... the vehicles were unlocked and in the case of the stolen cars, the keys were left in them,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “We are again asking residents to be vigilant and take the steps necessary to protect yourselves. Lock your car and house at night, don't leave your keys in your car, close your garage doors, put outside lights on - and if you see or hear something CALL US.”
Police say the thefts occurred in the neighborhoods along Cook Hill Road and Coleman Road, including Southpond Circle, Pondside Place, Ashley Court and Brookfield Court. Anyone with information on the thefts are asked to call the Cheshire Police Department’s Investigative Division at 203-271-5530.
