Cheshire Board of Ed Increases Superintendent's Budget Request
Dr. Greg Florio originally requested a $69.43 million budget, a 5.19 increase, for fiscal year 2015-16.

The Cheshire Board of Education has forwarded Town Manager Michael Milone a budget with $575,000 added to Superintendent of Schools Dr. Greg Florio’s requested $69.43 million budget for fiscal year 2015-16.
Luther Turmelle of the New Haven Register reports that it is the second time in the last three years that the board has increased Florio’s budget request.
The board added $295,000 for building maintenance, $150,000 for supplies and textbooks and $130,000 for laptops for student use, according to Turmelle.

The next step in the budget process will come March 10 when Milone sends his recommendations for the full municipal budget to the Town Council, according to Turmelle.
