Chair of Cheshire Republican Town Committee
The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The physical condition of our school buildings. A School Modernization Committee has been created to investigate and clarify the problem(s) and propose options to address these problems. One of the major concerns is the impact action taken will have on our taxes.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My opponent has focused on reducing the speed limit on town roads to 20 mph and the installation of bike lanes while offering no ideas on growing the Grand List or encouraging economic development. I am in favor of extensive review of town planning and zoning regulations that are hindering efforts to bring development to the north end of town. I have clearly voiced my focus and concern relating to how we address any school modernization program, keeping the tax impact of any action at the forefront.
List other issues that define your campaign platform:
Protecting our seniors - extending property tax credit offered to seniors; maintaining the level of services needed for seniors to continue living in this town; Review of our open spaces and parks to ensure that they serve all of our population and our team sports
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Chair of the Republican Town Committee; built multi-million-dollar business from the ground up; accounting background has given me a deep understanding of budgets and finance
The best advice ever shared with me was ...
Listen to others as you can always learn something
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I have a type A personality; I speak my mind; and I'm not afraid to stand up for what I believe in.
