The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
I'd like to see more residents involved in town. Since this is important to me, I have spoken at Council meetings and occasionally write editorials to share my opinion and engage others.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I'd like to think that I'm not a typical candidate because I'm not seeking a position for power or for any egotistical desire for control. I've stepped forward whenever I could and suggested concrete ideas to help resolve problems in our community. I was pleased to see that this helped, because I've had positive results, which is encouraging.
List other issues that define your campaign platform:
I volunteered to help write the Democratic Platform for the town of Cheshire and agree with it because it addresses our goals. (I encourage you to read it on our Democratic website). However, I feel strongly that we need to improve our town and to encourage the community (include the students) to be more involved in government. Also, I have submitted written documents in that regard.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My education at SCSU and WCSU, careers in State and Federal Govt., vast amount of volunteer work in town in a variety of organizations, leadership roles on three Boards of Directors, work in town govt. and present invitation by CT Human Services to be work group in the legislative office building to pass state laws.
The best advice ever shared with me was ...
Treat others as you would like to be treated.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
