Cheshire High School Teacher Dies Unexpectedly: Reports
Students were informed of the teacher's death on Thursday.

CHESHIRE, CT — The Cheshire community is mourning the death of a popular high school teacher, according to multiple reports.
The New Haven Register reports Megumi Yamamoto, an English teacher at Cheshire High School, died on Wednesday night. Yamamoto was Cheshire Teacher of the Year in 2011 and a finalist for Connecticut Teacher of the Year. To sign up for Cheshire breaking news alerts and more, click here.

Students were informed of her death during an advisory period on Thursday, according to the Meriden Record-Journal. Details on the circumstances of her death haven’t been made available yet.
