Cheshire Municipal Election 2017 Results
Residents voted on several local positions in Tuesday's municipal election. Here are the winners.

CHESHIRE, CT — Republicans increased their majority on the Town Council to 6-3 with David Veleber defeating veteran Democratic Councilman Michael Ecke in the First District in Tuesday’s municipal election, according to the New Haven Register. Veleber won by a vote of 806 to 791, according to the Secretary of State’s Office.
Other winners for council district seats were: Republican Tom Ruocco (Second District), Democrat Jeff Falk (Third District), and Democrat Peter Talbot (Fourth District).
The following won the races for at-large seats: Republicans Rob Oris (3,402 votes), Tim Slocum (3,350 votes), Paul Bowman (3,300) and Sylvia Nichols (3,206) and Democrat Patti Flynn-Harris (3,369).

CHESHIRE, CT — On Nov. 7, Cheshire residents will hit the polls and vote for various local positions. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dozens of candidates are on the ballot for the local election. Here is a breakdown of what you need to know.

Residents will vote on candidates for Council At-Large, District Council, Town Clerk, Board of Education, Board of Assessment Appeals, Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Constables and five referendum questions. The following are the candidates in some of the town-wide races. To view all candidates and a sample ballot in your district, click here.
Council At-Large (Vote for any five)
- Ronald Gagliardi, James McKenney, Jim Jinks, Patti Flynn-Harris, Kim Cangiano (D)
- Robert J. Oris Jr., Tim Slocum, Paul A. Bowman, James M. Sima, Sylvia P. Nichols (R)
Town Clerk
- Laura Brennan (R), unopposed
Board of Education (Vote for any three)
- Kathryn Fabiani (D)
- Anthony Perugini, Adam Grippo (R)

Am I Registered?
If you do not know if you are registered to vote, you can click here. Applications must be postmarked or received by a voter registration agency by the 7th day before an election, which is Oct. 31. However, if you miss the deadline for registering for an election, Connecticut now offers same-day voter registration. You can register and vote in person on Election Day at your town's Election Day Registration location. You can contact your local registrars of voters for information.

Absentee Ballots
- You can vote by absentee due to the following reasons:
- Illness or physical disability
- Absence from town during all election hours
- Religious beliefs forbidding secular activity on election day
- Serving as an election official at a polling place other than your own
- Active service in the Armed Forces
