Cheshire Police Fire Taser to Stop Assault of Pregnant Woman
The man accused of the assault was also charged with assaulting police officers.

Cheshire police officers fired a Taser to stop a man from assaulting a pregnant woman during a recent arrest.
Richard Ramirez, 33, of 127 Long Hill Road in Waterbury, was arrested for the assault on May 7and is due back in Meriden Superior Court on Friday, according to the Meriden-Record Journal.
Police officers responded to an assault-in-progress at 41 Wallingford Road, according to the police report, and after an investigation at the scene, Ramirez was arrested.

Ramirez was charged with first-degree assault on a pregnant woman, unlawful restraint, interfering with a police investigation and two counts of assault on a police officer.
Ramirez has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges and is being held on a $175,000 bond, according to the Record-Journal.
