Alexa Ciccone finished 1st again with a time of 19:08. Other top finishers from CHS were #7 Emily D’Souza 20:48, #20 Ava Ciccone 22:18, #29 Jocelyn Grace 23:20, #33. Sam Mudry 23.52, #36 Abby Cortigiano 24:00, & #37 Eva Curran 24:01.

Head Coach Rob Schaefer commented about his team’s 2nd place finish in Farmington. “The girls really came to compete today. With Alexa winning the race by far (second place was 19:58 by a runner from New Canaan) her race is a wonderful accomplishment. A huge amount of credit goes to our three freshman rising stars: Emily D’Souza, Ava Ciccone, and Jocelyn Grace. Great runs also by our veterans: Captain Sam Mudry, Abby Cortigiano, and Eva Curran. We are a young team. As the freshmen gain experience, I see nothing but improvement for this year’s version of the Stripes.” Schaefer commented again about his new group of frosh athletes this year. “A pleasant surprise is how well our three freshmen runners are doing. I knew Emily D’Souza was going to be good; I’ve been following her since her running days at Dodd Middle School. I am so happy to see Ava Ciccone and Jocelyn Grace developing as talented runners so early and doing well,” stated Schaefer.
