Council Candidate Withdraws From Race In Cheshire

The candidate announced the decision to withdraw from the race this week.

CHESHIRE, CT — A Republican candidate for Town Council has withdrawn from next month’s municipal election. The Cheshire Republican Town Committee announced Wednesday that Eric Brushett, the party’s endorsed candidate for the Fourth District, has withdrawn from the race.

“The Cheshire Republican Party regretfully announces the withdrawal of 4th District Council candidate Eric Brushett,” the committee wrote in a post on Facebook. “Mr. Brushett volunteered his time to this effort because he loves Cheshire, as we all do. He stated, ‘I realized there are better ways for me to help my community and I’m confident in the current council’s ability to govern our town.’

“Cheshire Republicans thank Mr. Brushett for his efforts and wish him all the best.”
