COVID-19 Test Kit Distribution Canceled In Cheshire: UPDATE
Cheshire officials provide update on the planned COVID-19 at-home test distribution event on Thursday.

CHESHIRE, CT — The distribution of COVID-19 at-home test kits scheduled for Thursday in Cheshire has been canceled, officials announced.
"The state has notified municipalities that the COVID test kits for local distribution will not arrive in Connecticut today as planned," Assistant Town Manager Arnett Talbot wrote in an email around 12:45 a.m. "Therefore, Cheshire’s distribution event is postponed to a later date. Further information will be posted on the Town website and social media as it becomes available."
Gov. Ned Lamont notified municipalities earlier on Wednesday that the COVID-19 at-home test kits for local distribution may not arrive in Connecticut in time for dispersal on Thursday.

Lamont cited shipping and warehouse delays outside of the state’s control.
“My staff and multiple state agencies have spent the past several days working around the clock to accelerate the movement of our tests through what is clearly a shipping and distribution bottleneck on the West Coast amid unprecedented international demand for tests,” Lamont said in a statement.
