Population projections have been made for every Connecticut town through 2025. Some towns will see an increase and some a decrease.

Connecticut’s population is expected to grow over the next decade, but at a slower pace than most states.

Data from the state’s Connecticut Open Data portal has population estimates for every municipality in the state through 2025. It is derived from multiple data sets, including locally-derived fertility rates.

***Cheshire's population in 2015 was 29,275 and it is projected to decrease by 345 people by 2025.***

Connecticut ranks as one of the 12th slowest-growing states between 1995 and 2025 estimates, according to U.S. Department of Commerce. States predominantly in the west and southwest are growing the fastest.

In 1995, Connecticut’s population was about 3.275 million, in 2015, 3.5 million and it's estimated to have 3.739 million people by 2025, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce

The U.S. population was about 321 million in July 2015. In mid-May 2016 it was estimated to be about 323 million. On average a person in the United States is born every eight seconds, dies every 13 seconds and a net of one new migrant comes in every 29 seconds. There is a net gain of one person every 13 seconds.
