Jinks For Town Council Announces Key Endorsements

The ‘Jinks for Town Council 2021’ campaign announces two key endorsements. On Thursday, October 28th the Cheshire Herald endorsed Jim Jinks for town council in Cheshire’s 2nd District.

The Herald stated 'Jim Jinks, in his first term as Second District Councilor, has often provided alternative considerations on issues, and while they may not always end up being supported by his fellow Councilors, having someone willing to provide a different perspective is invaluable. We also still believe Jinks’ focus on traffic and making sure the roadways are safe in Cheshire is a positive.' I’m excited and proud to receive the Herald’s endorsement. The Cheshire Herald is very strong local weekly paper and our paper of record. The endorsement means a lot to me and I know it’s meaningful to Cheshire voters. I don't follow the herd. I'm willing to say what I think. I give voice to voter concerns. So I'm proud to announce that the Cheshire Herald has recognized this and has again endorsed my candidacy for town council.

On Wednesday, October 27th SAM of CT endorsed the Jinks campaign as well. SAM of CT is an emerging party that values transparency, accountability, common solutions and sound policy over politics. SAM of CT said ‘Local government is vital to Connecticut and having strong local leaders is important. We are proud to endorse Jim Jinks.’ I’ve admired and align with much of what SAM is working toward. Too many voters feel outside the political process. Too many voters feel like their leaders aren’t responsive. In my work as a town councilor I’m guided by several principles – respecting voters, protecting taxpayers, communicating effectively with voters, seeking to collaborate with and learn from my fellow councilors, being proactively transparent and working to solve problems from a policy point-of-view rather than a political one. I’m proud to be recognized and endorsed by SAM of CT.
