Mixville Park Partially Reopening In Cheshire
Officials announced the park is reopening effective immediately for "passive recreation" only.

CHESHIRE, CT — Mixville Park in Cheshire will be reopening effective immediately for “passive recreation only,” officials announced Friday afternoon. The reopening includes walking, hiking and fishing.
“Parking capacity has been reduced to manage the number of park visitors,” officials wrote in a news release. “Parking is not allowed on the grass areas or along the street. There will be no park passes sold or required at this time.”
The following park amenities will remain closed until further notice:

- Beach and Water Activities (Per DEEP Guidelines)
- Restrooms
- Playground
- Basketball Court
- Sand Volleyball
- Pavilion Rentals/Picnics
“Those using the parks are expected to comply with social distancing and face covering guidelines when applicable,” officials said. “Outdoor gathering limits will remain consistent with those established by the Governor’s most recent executive orders.”
