Motorcycle Operator Dies In Crash On I-84 In Cheshire: UPDATE
I-84 East in Cheshire has reopened after being shut down for several hours as police investigated the crash.

CHESHIRE, CT — I-84 East in Cheshire has reopened after a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and multiple vehicles shut down a portion of the highway for several hours on Tuesday afternoon and evening. A motorcycle operator was reported to have sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash.
In a late Tuesday night update, State Trooper First Class Kelly Grant said there was one fatality in the crash. No further information was immediately available. (To sign up for Cheshire breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The crash involved multiple vehicles and occurred around 4:45 p.m. on I-84 East near Exit 27 in Cheshire, according to police. A portion of the highway was closed for several hours as police investigated the crash.

Grant also confirmed that there were several multi-vehicle crashes, not one large multi-vehicle crash.
Approximately four other people transported to local hospitals for the evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries, according to Grant.
