New Medical Facility Approved In Cheshire
The Cheshire Planning and Zoning Commission has approved plans for a new 75,000-square-foot medical facility in town.
CHESHIRE, CT — The Cheshire Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved plans this week for a new 75,000-square-foot medical facility that will be built on West Johnson Avenue, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
The Record-Journal reports the building, located at 759 West Johnson Ave., will become the home of both a surgical and a medical group that are part of the Hartford HealthCare network. The facility is expected to employ 175 full-time workers and about 50 part-time workers, according to the Record-Journal.
The building is on a 24.6-acre parcel on the southerly side of West Johnson Avenue at the intersection with Marion Road, according to minutes of the meeting. The 75,000-square-foot building will have three floors and there will be nearly 300 parking spaces on the property.

Bill Hardy, a representative from FIP Realty Corporation, spoke at the meeting and said the project will be at the “forefront of technology,” according to meeting minutes. He also noted that Connecticut is growing in health care and technology and also expressed appreciation to the commission and town staff for their interest and assistance with this project, the minutes state.
