Obituary: Amy L. McCauley, 94, Of Cheshire

She worked at As U Like It Cleaners in Cheshire for many years, and sang with the church choir and was an avid gardener.

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home): Amy L. McCauley, 94, of Cheshire, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at The Hebrew Center for Health & Rehabilitation. She was a 50-year resident of Cheshire, and a parishioner of St. Bridget of Sweden Parish. She was the wife of the late Donald J. McCauley.

Amy was born January 17, 1929, in New Bedford, MA, daughter of the late John H. and Helen (Wilson) McDonald. She worked at As U Like It Cleaners in Cheshire, retiring after many years. Amy belonged to the Newcomers Club and the Gourmet Group, when she first moved to Cheshire with her family in 1971. She sang with the church choir for many years, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed her monthly card games with the ladies.

Amy leaves behind her sons, James (Paula), John (Polly) and Michael (Ann) McCauley, her daughter, Barbara McCauley (Peter Kulak), and her sister, Ann Milhomme. She will also be missed by her grandchildren; Erin, Jessica, Curtis, Ryan, and Avery. In addition to her parents, Amy was predeceased by her daughter, Lynne M. McCauley, and her son, Brian P. McCauley, her brothers; Malcolm Wilson, Francis McDonald, and James McDonald, and her sister, Barbara Watson.
