Obituary: Charlene Karber, 75, Of Cheshire
Charlene's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved attending her grandchildren's sports, cheerleading, band, and school events.

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home): Charlene (Tracanna) Karber, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Edward A. Karber, Jr. for over 56 years, until his passing 6 weeks ago. Charlene was born on August 16, 1947, in New Haven, daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Braver) Tracanna.
Charlene and Ed moved to Cheshire in 1971 and began their family. Throughout the years, they enjoyed travelling the world, including Italy, France and China. They also traveled across the country with their children in their motor home, and lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida during the winter.
One of Charlene’s favorite places to visit was Nantucket. During the summer she loved the beautiful hydrangeas, and in the winter enjoyed the Christmas Stroll.

Charlene’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sports, cheerleading, band, and school events. No matter what it was, Charlene was always there to support them.
Charlene loved cooking and baking and was always trying new recipes to share with her family. She spent her free time crafting which included sewing, flower arranging and painting. Charlene was an avid scrapbooker and card maker. Attending card club each month and Snowflake Scrap every year with her friends was something she always looked forward to.

Charlene is the beloved mother of Carol Ann DiBenedictis and her husband, Nicholas, of Cheshire; and Richard Karber and his wife, Teresa, of Higganum. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Sara Canada and her husband, Steven; Nicholas DiBenedictis; Alexander Karber and Lily Karber. She is also survived by her siblings, Joseph Tracanna, Karen Santa Maria, Michelle Nosal, Paul Tracanna and John Tracanna.
Friends may greet Charlene’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Her funeral service will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
