Obituary: Karen (Sutherland) Luciani, 80; Formerly Of Cheshire

Mrs. Luciani was the Cafeteria Manager at Highland Elementary School in Cheshire for over 25 years.

CHESHIRE, CT - (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home): Karen (Sutherland) Luciani, 80, formerly of Cheshire, passed away December 7, 2020, in Marlton, NJ.

She was the wife of the late Louis M. Luciani.

Mrs. Luciani was born on April 11, 1940, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Merle and Charlotte Mae (Carter) Sutherland. She was a longtime Cheshire resident before moving to NJ.

Mrs. Luciani is survived by her daughter Cindi (Luciani) Jackson and her husband Jay as well as her granddaughters Haley and Krista Jackson of New Jersey, along with her brother Barry Sutherland and his wife Lisa of Cheshire and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her son, Scott Merle and brothers Robert, Darryl, Craig, Dean, and Duane.

Mrs. Luciani was the Cafeteria Manager at Highland Elementary School in Cheshire for over 25

years. Her and her husband were regulars on the Saturday morning Cheshire tag sale circuit.

Karen was well-known for her love of baking, especially her famous Chubbies and her extensive
Santa Claus collection.

She took great joy in attending her beloved granddaughters extracurricular actives including marching band competitions and soccer games.

She was an active, long-time member of the Yalesville Methodist Church in Yalesville, CT.

A private funeral and burial will be held at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery at the convenience of the
family.

There will be a Celebration of Mrs. Luciani’s Life announced at a later date.

Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
