Obituary: Robert J. Dupre, 83, Of Cheshire

Robert was involved in Scouts, and attained his Eagle Scout, a tradition that has now been continued through three generations of his family

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home): Robert J. Dupre, 83, of Cheshire, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Frances (Martino) Dupre for over 57 years.

Robert was born on St. Joseph’s Day, March 19, 1940 in Waterbury, son of the late Ernest L. and Jeanette (Cormier) Dupre.

Robert and Frances were married on September 11, 1965 and soon after began their family. Over the years together they enjoyed many sightseeing trips throughout the U.S., visiting many National Parks and Alaska; and through the Canadian Rockies and Newfoundland, where Robert was stationed. They were active with the Prospect Senior Center trips and camping.

Robert had a passion for fishing and hunting, and was an avid bowler, he also loved landscaping and spending time in his garden. Throughout his life, Robert was involved in Scouts, and attained his Eagle Scout, a tradition he started and has now been continued through three generations of his family.

In addition to his wife, Frances of Cheshire, Robert is survived by his beloved children, Christopher Dupre and his wife, Rosa DeLeon of Prospect and Aileen Boucher of Canton. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Jason, Sarah and Cassandra Dupre, Peter Dupre and Damian and Claire Boucher; his brother, Roger Dupre of Lewiston, ME; his sister, Rita Jackson of Coupeville, WA; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting his family with the arrangements.
