Obituary: Salvatore Ruscitti, 65; Formerly Of Cheshire

Sal was Vice President of several local Kentucky Fried Chickens Franchises until retirement. He was an active member of local Italian Clubs.

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Salvatore Ruscitti, 65, of Cromwell, formerly of Cheshire, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in hospice care at Middlesex Hospital on Friday, May 5, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Debora A. (Pierandi) Ruscitti.

Sal was born in Alvignano, Province of Caserta, Italy on November 24, 1957, the son of the late Nicola and Maria Ruscitti. Sal was Vice President of several local Kentucky Fried Chickens Franchises until his retirement. He was an active member of Italian Clubs in Waterbury and Hamden.

In addition to his wife Debora, he will be missed by his daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and Nick Ludwig, Gabriella and Adam Leonetti, and Nicoletta and Mark Murphree; and his cherished grandchildren, Colin and Gemma Ludwig, Isabella and Louis Leonetti, and Maya Murphree. He was predeceased by his sister, Veneranda Ruscitti.

Sal’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all of those who helped care for him through his long battle with Alzheimer’s, specifically, Tracy and Christine.

Sal’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Monday, May 8, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. directly at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish – St. Barnabas Campus, 44 Washington Ave., North Haven. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum in North Haven.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Middlesex Health Hospice Program, 28 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457.
