Over 500 Expected at Hot COCO 5K on November 13

The 13th annual Hot COCO 5K, 1 Mile Walk & Kids Fun Run takes place IN-PERSON on Saturday, November 13 in Cheshire. The scenic rolling 5K course begins at The Norton School and travels the historic Farmington Canal Line. The 1-mile walk route is an out-and-back through Cheshire’s residential neighborhoods. The Kids Half Mile Fun Run starts at 10:00am and is followed by the 5K/walk at 10:10am. The race benefits Abilities Without Boundaries, Cheshire’s premiere non-profit providing individuals with disabilities with the freedom and opportunity to succeed in social and vocational pursuits within a safe, nurturing environment.

Organizers expect to attract over 500 runners and walkers on November 13th! To keep everyone safe, all event activities will take place outside. However, we will still feature the amenities everyone looks forward to including technical running shirts, a post-race party featuring entertainment, grab and go food, beverages, music, children’s activities, awards ceremony and more. Hot cocoa is also provided!

Recognition to the top three overall male and female finishers, the first male and female masters (over 40) finishers, the first Cheshire male and female finishers and the top three male and female age group finishers. All Kids Fun Run participants receive a ribbon.

Dr. Lloyd Saberski, Abilities Without Boundaries Board Member and Hot COCO Race Chairman, recognizes the race as an important fundraiser, but also does much more, “We want our local community to be more aware of the developmentally disabled adults we serve. Their needs are often overlooked. Abilities Without Boundaries offers an important service to our community and the race greatly raises our organization’s visibility. We rely upon our community to provide job opportunities for our program participants, as well as funding support.”

The Hot COCO 5K & Kids Fun Run is sponsored by: Ouellette, Deganis, Gallagher & Grippe Attorneys at Law; Gaylord Physical Therapy, Richard Chevrolet, 99.1 PLR.
