‘Person Of Interest’ Sought In Stolen Car Crash Into Police Cruiser Case: Cheshire PD
The stolen vehicle, which struck a police cruiser while leaving the scene, was later found abandoned in Wallingford, according to police.

CHESHIRE, CT — Police are asking for help with identifying a “person of interest” in connection with an incident involving the driver of a stolen vehicle striking a police cruiser last month in Cheshire.
Police responded to the Maplecroft Shopping Plaza at 275 Highland Ave. around 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 18 on the report of a stolen vehicle in the area, according to Lt. Jeffrey Sutherland.
Upon arriving in the plaza, Sutherland said the driver of the stolen vehicle accelerated toward a patrol officer operating a marked police cruiser and intentionally struck the cruiser, disabling it (watch the video below).

The stolen vehicle then continued to flee the area and was later found abandoned in a private parking lot in Wallingford, according to Sutherland.
Cheshire police are asking for the public’s assistance with identifying the man (pictured) as a “person of interest.”
