Rabid Raccoon Killed By Cheshire Dogs

A raccoon that came into contact with two dogs in Cheshire has tested positive for rabies.

Cheshire Animal Control announced that a raccoon that was killed by two dogs on Cheshire Street on Thursday, Dec. 31 has tested positive for rabies.

The dogs encountered the raccoon in their own yard, according to a press release.

The dogs were current with rabies vaccinations and were boostered against rabies and placed on a strict home confinement for 45 days per state mandate.
