Redevelopment Plans For Former Arby’s Rejected In Cheshire

The Planning and Zoning Commission recently rejected a proposal for a new use at the site of a former Arby's in Cheshire.

CHESHIRE, CT — Plans for a new car wash to be built on the site of a former Arby’s restaurant on South Main Street were recently rejected by the Cheshire Planning and Zoning Commission, according to the Cheshire Herald.

The Herald reported that the Planning and Zoning Commission rejected a special permit and a site plan for the proposed car wash by a 5-4 vote at its recent meeting.

Plans called for the demolition of the vacant Arby’s building and for the car wash to be built at 980 South Main St. in Cheshire, the Hartford Business Journal previously reported.

Several Planning and Zoning commissioners expressed concerns about traffic and the size of the lot, according to the Cheshire Herald.
