The State Bonding Commission agenda allocates $1.5 million to Ball and Socket Arts, a non-profit arts center in Cheshire, to complete a critical phase of their renovation. This construction will help the center to complete renovations to be able to offer retail, food and drinks to the public. The Commission’s agenda also allocates $750,000 to the Wallingford YMCA to help with rebuilding of their east side facility on South Elm Street.
“These construction projects will provide critical resources to our community. The renovation of Ball and Socket will not only benefit our community by uplifting and investing in the arts, but it will also act as a valuable economic asset for commerce in Cheshire,” said Rep. Linehan. “The renovation of the Wallingford YMCA is essential as we see that recreational centers for our youth are more important now than ever. Many thanks to Speaker Matt Ritter for his continued encouragement behind the funding of these important projects, as well as Governor Lamont for his support and approval.”
