CHESHIRE, CT — The Cheshire Dog Park, Cheshire Skate Park and the town tennis courts at the Youth Center will be reopening to the public on Tuesday, May 26, officials announced Thursday. The parks had been closed since late March. Officials are asking resident to “respect” the reopening date.

The new tennis and pickleball courts at Cheshire Park will be opened in mid-June when construction is completed. Officials said residents using the reopened facilities are required to comply with social distancing guidelines and use face coverings when applicable. Any additional restrictions for the use of these facilities will be posted onsite and on the town website here.

“Mixville Park will be closed until further notice due its designation as an interior recreation water area and pursuant to recent CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection recommendations,” officials wrote in a news release. “Other town parks and passive recreation areas, with the exception of Mixville Park, are open. Those using the parks are expected to comply with social distancing and face covering guidelines. Basketball courts and playgrounds remain closed.”
