St. Peter’s Episcopal Church To Bless New Sanctuary
A celebration and blessing will be held April 3.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Cheshire will host a celebration and blessing of its newly renovated sanctuary on Sunday, April 3 at 6 p.m. The multiyear project features a stunning design by the renowned architect, activist and commentator Duo Dickinson, new liturgical furniture by Ross Belson, glass doors, silver chalice and paten. Laura J. Ahrens, the Suffragan Bishop of Connecticut, will preside over the blessing ceremony, which is open to the public.

Duo Dickinson and Ross Belson will join The Rev. Sandra Stayner, the Rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church for the occasion.
St. Peter’s, formed in 1751, is the oldest Episcopal parish in Cheshire. It’s first church building on the current site was built in 1760. The oldest part of the current church building, the Nave, was built in 1840. The new sanctuary design both celebrates and showcases the building’s rich history.
