St. Peter’s Episcopal Church In Cheshire Hosts Forums On Going Solar
Homeowners can learn how to harvest the sun, help the Earth and save money.
Press release from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church:
May 26, 2022
The Eco-Justice Council at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Cheshire will host two forums on consecutive Sundays on “Going Solar.” The first forum, on June 5, will examine the how and why of installing solar panels at your home, with guest speaker Art Marcelynas offering a presentation and guiding the discussion. Mr. Marcelynas is a retired official from the state’s Public Utility Regulatory Authority (PURA) who has vast experience working with energy suppliers and solar energy companies. The second forum, on June 12, will be led by homeowners who have “gone solar” and can share their experiences, the pluses and minuses, with the audience, especially those who have considered “going solar” but just hesitate to take that leap of faith.

The goal of these forums is to take the mystery out of solar energy and to encourage members of the community to embrace alternative energy options as we confront and adapt to global climate change. This promises to be a positive, informative and inspirational event. It will be held in the Parish Hall of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, at 11 a.m. on both dates. The event is free and open to all members of the community.
The Eco-Justice Council is dedicated to working together to build a just and sustainable ecological ethic that informs our actions every day, based on: cooperation, mindfulness, simplicity, temperance and respect for nature.
