Victim Identified In Fatal Fire In Clinton: Police
One person died after an apartment fire in Clinton, according to officials.
CLINTON, CT — The victim of Monday’s fatal fire at the Lafayette Green apartment complex has been identified as 61-year-old Glenn Hall, Clinton police said in an update on Tuesday.
Crews responded around 10:25 a.m. on March 2 to a 911 call from the occupant of a unit at Lafayette Green Building 1 reporting a smoke detector alarm with an odor of smoke, according to Clinton Volunteer Fire Chief Brian Manware.
Manware said several subsequent 911 calls reported visible smoke and flames coming from a second-floor window.

Mangs said the victim, later identified as Hall, sustained severe burn injuries and was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Despite lifesaving efforts, Mangs said Hall later died from his injuries at the hospital. Hall was a resident at the apartment, and Mangs said no other occupants were home at the time of the incident.
Manware said the occupants from the three other apartments were not injured but were displaced and are being assisted by The American Red Cross.
No firefighters were injured, according to Manware.
The origin and cause of the fire are being investigated by the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit, the Clinton Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Clinton Police Department, according to Mangs.
“Based on preliminary findings at the scene, there is no indication of foul play, and the fire appears to have been accidental in nature,” Mangs wrote in a news release.
Any witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to contact the Clinton Police Department at 860-669-0451.
