• Big Lottery Prize Sold At Stop & Shop In Clinton (patch.com) — A Clinton resident has scored a $25,000 prize on a Cash Royale scratch ticket bought at the Stop & Shop on East Main Street, bringing a bit of lottery luck to town. The Connecticut Lottery notes that, under a new state law, winners’ names are now kept private unless they give written consent.    

• CT Water plants 400 trees at Killingworth Reservoir to help shield water supply (hartfordbusiness.com subscription) — Clinton residents’ drinking water is getting extra protection thanks to 400 newly planted white pines around Killingworth Reservoir, which feeds the treatment plant serving Clinton and nearby towns. The Clinton-based Connecticut Water utility says the evergreen buffer will reduce leaf debris, improve water quality, and help safeguard this key regional supply for more than 24,000 shoreline customers.
