Shooting Suspect Taken Into Custody In Clinton: Police

CLINTON, CT — A suspect in connection with a shooting in West Haven was taken into custody in Clinton on Saturday, according to police.

The suspect was taken into custody in the area of Hemlock Hill Road in Clinton, according to police.

A heavy police presence was seen in the area, and Clinton police said they were assisting the West Haven Police Department with the apprehension of a suspect connected with a shooting incident that happened in West Haven.

“The suspect has since been taken into custody and there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time,” Clinton police wrote in a post on Facebook. “We thank residents for their patience, cooperation, and understanding while officers worked to safely resolve the situation. Additional information regarding the original incident will be released by the appropriate agency as available.”

West Haven police have not yet confirmed if the suspect was in connection with the double-fatal shooting in West Haven.
