IDs Released In Double-Fatal Shooting In West Haven: Police
Police are investigating after two people were killed and another was injured in a shooting outside a bar in West Haven.
WEST HAVEN, CT — Two people were killed and one was injured in a shooting outside a bar early Saturday morning in West Haven, according to police.
The victims have been identified as 31-year-old Miguel Daniel Blake of New Haven and 34-year-old Dravere Christopher Blake from Meriden, Sgt. Scott Allard said in an update on Monday morning.
Police responded around 1:30 a.m. on June 20 to a bar in the 600 block of Campbell Avenue on the report of someone shot, according to Allard.

Allard said responding officers found three gunshot victims at the scene.
One victim sustained “apparent gunshot wounds to the arm and leg and was conscious, alert, and responsive when officers arrived,” according to Allard.

Allard said two additional victims were found across the street and appeared to be unresponsive. Both had sustained apparent gunshot wounds and were taken to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead, according to Allard.
West Haven detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that all three victims were outside the bar prior to being shot,” Allard wrote in a news release. “At this time, the incident appears to be isolated and connected to activity at the bar. Investigators do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.”
Allard said the area of Campbell Avenue was closed on Saturday morning for the investigation.
“This investigation is in its early stages, and there is limited information available currently,” Allard wrote. “We will provide additional details as they become available.”
A suspect in connection with a shooting in West Haven was taken into custody in Clinton on Saturday, according to Clinton police.
Police said the suspect was taken into custody in the area of Hemlock Hill Road in Clinton.

A heavy police presence was seen in the area, and Clinton police said they were assisting the West Haven Police Department with the apprehension of a suspect connected with a shooting incident that happened in West Haven.
“The suspect has since been taken into custody and there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time,” Clinton police wrote in a post on Facebook. “We thank residents for their patience, cooperation, and understanding while officers worked to safely resolve the situation.”
In an update Saturday afternoon, Allard said "possible evidence related to a shooting was located at a residence in Clinton."
"An individual was taken into custody in relation to a disturbance at the crime scene," Allard wrote in an email. "There have been no arrests on any individual for the shooting yet."
