Clinton's Conservation Commission will discuss composting, invasive species and open space

CLINTON, CT — The Clinton Conservation Commission is scheduled to discuss residential food composting, invasive species management and an ongoing open space acquisition during its regular meeting on Wednesday, July 8.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Rose Room at Andrews Memorial Town Hall. Commissioners are expected to consider approval of the April 8 and June 10 meeting minutes before receiving the chair's comments.

Under old business, the commission will continue discussions on residential food composting and collaboration opportunities with the Sustainability Committee, including an update on textile recycling efforts.

The commission also is scheduled to discuss invasive species as part of its new business agenda.

Following regular commission business, members will convene a Joint Land Acquisition Subcommittee meeting. The subcommittee is expected to review and consider approval of its Feb. 11 meeting minutes and receive an update on the proposed acquisition of open space at 0 Killingworth Turnpike, identified as Map 28, Block 39, Lot 114.
