The store, which is more than three times the size of the company's average retail store, will serve the needs of boaters along the shoreline of Connecticut, Long Island, and the Connecticut River. Stores in Clinton, New London and the older Old Saybrook store have closed to make way for this mega-store.
Kevin Dawson, West Marine's District Manager of Southern New England, said the store will employ 40 associates who have a combined 740 years of experience "on the water."
