Brooklyn Rider string quartet in concert 4/13

On Sunday, April 13th, The George Flynn
Classical Concerts series is proud to present Brooklyn Rider, a string quartet based
in Brooklyn, NY. Hailed as “the future of chamber music,” this game-changing
string quartet offers eclectic repertoire in gripping performances that
continue to attract legions of fans and draw rave reviews from classical,
world, and rock music critics alike. NPR credits Brooklyn Rider with
“recreating the 300-year-old form of string quartet as a vital and creative
21st-century ensemble.” Equally at home in clubs and concert halls, the quartet
has played venues as varied as the San Francisco Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center and
the South by Southwest Festival.

Brooklyn Rider is as committed to the creation of new
works as it is to its dynamic interpretations of the existing quartet
literature. The four musicians have worked with composers and artists such as
Philip Glass, Bill Frisell, Bela Fleck, Dawn Upshaw and Suzanne Vega besides
regularly performing pieces written or arranged by members of the group.

The Sunday, April 13th concert will be held at the
Andrews Memorial Town Hall in Clinton, well known for its excellent acoustics.
Tickets can be obtained by sending a self addressed stamped envelope to George
Flynn Classical Concerts, PO Box 473, Clinton, CT 06413 or calling
860-669-1208.
