Clinton ‘Drone Teen’ Arrested on Sexual Assault Charge: Police

CLINTON, CT — Austin Haughwout, who made headlines for creating a gun-shooting drone in 2015, turned himself in to police early Thursday morning on an outstanding arrest warrant on charges of enticing a minor, attempted fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor, according to police.

Haughwout, 19, went to Clinton Police Department headquarters at 5:45 a.m. to turn himself in on the warrant that was issued by Middletown Superior Court, police said in a press release.

The warrant was issued after a lengthy investigation by the Clinton Police Department and other law enforcement agencies, according to police.

Haughwout, of Egypt Lane in Clinton, was also arrested over the summer on similar charges, including enticing a minor with a computer and fourth-degree attempt at sexual assault.

He was held on a $25,000 court-set cash-only bond, which he did not post, for the latest arrest, according to police. Haughwout was scheduled to be arraigned later on Thursday.
