A holiday tradition less than 10 minutes from Clinton, the Madison Fireworks light up the Connecticut shoreline with a spectacular Independence Day display launched from a barge off West Wharf. Residents and visitors can gather along the waterfront to enjoy the annual celebration, which is supported through community donations.

Norwich Harbor Fireworks 2026
When: Friday, July 3, 2026, 6–10 p.m.
Where: Howard T. Brown Park | 100 Chelsea Harbor Dr, Norwich
Admission: Free
Marking America's 250th anniversary, Norwich Harbor will host an evening of fireworks and family-friendly entertainment about 35 minutes from Clinton. The free celebration at Howard T. Brown Park features live music, food trucks, crafts, face painting and a fireworks display over the harbor.
America 250 Celebration
When: Friday, July 3, 2026, 6 p.m.
Where: Orange Fairgrounds | 525 Orange Center Rd, Orange

A once-in-a-generation celebration awaits in Orange, about 30 minutes from Clinton, as the town marks America's 250th anniversary with an evening of patriotic festivities. The event features live music, colonial-era performances, student presentations and a unique fireworks display highlighted by 250 volleys and a special USA-themed finale.
July 4th 2026 Parade

Where: Parade begins at Poquonnock Plains Park | 1 Central Ave, Groton, CT

Celebrating America's 250th birthday, Groton's Annual Fourth of July Parade returns as a cherished community tradition about 30 minutes from Clinton. Hartford Bonanza

Worth the 45-minute drive from Clinton, Hartford Bonanza 2026 brings thousands together in Bushnell Park for a citywide Fourth of July celebration honoring America's 250th anniversary. The free event features live music, art, food trucks, community activities and a fireworks display in the heart of Connecticut's capital city.

If you are looking for a more upscale Independence Day celebration, head to Wallingford, about 35 minutes from Clinton, for The Gilded Curtain's America's 250th Anniversary event.
