UPDATE: Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash in Clinton

The accident occurred around 2 p.m. and has led to congestion for several miles on I-95 North, according to DOT officials.

UPDATE, 5 p.m.: I-95 North between Exits 62 and 63 is now open, according to Clinton Police.

“However, continue to expect delays on local roads in the immediate area, as traffic was detoured off of I-95 at exit 62 for several hours, and it will take some time for traffic to return to normal,” police said in a post on Facebook.

The highway remains congested between Exits 59 and 63, according to DOT officials.

The right shoulder is closed as of 5 p.m. but traffic is once again moving, albeit slowly through the area.

UPDATE, 2:30 p.m.: DOT officials are advising motorists to take a detour while I-95 North in Clinton is closed between Exits 62 and 63 as a result of a motorcycle accident with life-threatening injuries.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour, which is the following: Take Exit 62 North and take a right onto the Hammonsset Connector. Then take a left onto Route 81, which will take you to the Exit 63 on-ramp to 95 North.

Officials also estimate the duration of the incident to last for three hours or less.

CLINTON, CT — A motorcycle accident has closed I-95 North in Clinton between Exits 62 and 63, according to DOT officials.

The accident was reported at 2 p.m., and officials expect the closure to last for about an hour.

Congestion has led to delays between Exits 59 and 62, according to DOT officials.
