Several Overnight Thefts from Vehicles Reported in Clinton: PD

Clinton Police detail recent calls the department has responded to, including a stolen vehicle and cars entered and items stolen: BREAKING

CLINTON, CT — One vehicle was stolen and several vehicles were reported to be entered with items stolen in recent calls to the Clinton Police Department.

The stolen car was recovered in Hartford and the thefts from vehicles occurred during the overnight hours and police are investigating, according to the department’s Police Block Watch Weekly Newsletter (covering reports from July 11 to July 25).

A resident also reported that a bag, containing a camera and beer, was stolen from her yard in early July.

Call # 16-11544, Theft from Vehicle report, Summary: Investigating officer: Ofc. Joseph Popovich

On 07/01/16 at approximately 0747 hours, a complainant from Cedar Road reported their vehicle was entered and items were stolen overnight. The matter is under investigation.

Call # 16-11549, Theft from Vehicle report Summary: Investigating officer Ofc. Joseph Popovich

On 07/01/16 at approximately 0845 hours, a complainant from Cedar Road reported their vehicle was entered and items were stolen overnight. There were three vehicles entered and one was stolen. The stolen vehicle was later recovered in Hartford. The matter is under investigation.

Call # 16-11886, Theft from residence report, Summary: Investigating officer: Ofc. David Cairns

On 07/06/16 at approximately 1404 hours, a complainant from Waterside Lane reported that a bag was stolen from her yard which contained a camera and beer. The matter is under investigation.

Call # 16-12355, Suspicious Person report Summary: Investigating officer: Ofc. Glenn Smith

On 07/14/16 at approximately 1104 hours, a complainant from Christina Court reported a suspicious person going door to door soliciting. The person told home owners he had a permit from the town. The person was stopped by police, identified and advised to obtain a town permit in order to solicit door to door.

On 07/19/16 at approximately 1430 hours, a complainant who had his vehicle kept at 338 East Main Street reported his vehicle was entered and items were stolen. The matter is under investigation.
