1 Person Injured In Candlewood Lake Boating Accident
The Connecticut Environmental Conservation Police are investigating the accident which occurred on Candlewood Lake Monday morning.
DANBURY, CT —One person was hospitalized following a boating accident on Candlewood Lake Monday morning, according to police.
Danbury’s Public Safety vessel, 34 Marine 1, along with shore based units, responded to a 911 call shortly before 11 a.m. A command post was established at Lattins Cove.
"Initial reports indicated one vessel was taking on water, with another vessel attempting to return to Lattins Cove State Boat Launch," according to Danbury Police Department spokesperson Erin Henry.

34 Marine 1 made contact with one vessel and determined they were not taking on water and escorted the vessel to Lattins Cove, where both passengers were evaluated by Emergency Medical Services, Henry said in a news release.
One person was taken to the hospital, according to police.

Police were unable to locate the second vessel involved in the accident, which police report left the area under its own power.
The investigation has been turned over to Connecticut Environmental Conservation Police.
