2 Danbury Men Accused Of Weekend DWI In New York

One had a previous DWI conviction, New York State police said.

New York State police arrested two Danbury men over the July 13 weekend as part of their crackdown on impaired drivers. One of the arrests carried a felony charge because the driver had a previous conviction, police said.

On July 13, New York State police arrested Jhandry D. Cuenca Ramirez, 35, of Danbury, Connecticut, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 6 in Brewster, New York, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, police alleged.

On July 14, New York State police arrested Franklin M. Llivipuma Pugo, 31, of Danbury, Connecticut, for Aggravated DWI Leandra’s Law with a prior conviction, a class E felony. He was traveling on Interstate 84 in Southeast, New York, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol with a child in the vehicle, police alleged.
