$25 Million Danbury Lotto Winner Comes Forward, Claims Prize

He was in it. He won it.

DANBURY, CT — The Connecticut State Lottery has identified the lucky Danbury resident who won that $25.8 million Lotto jackpot on Nov. 1.

William Mclaughlin claimed his payday —one lump sum of $21,365,302 — on Nov. 12. Jackpot winners have the choice of receiving their winnings either as an annuity (21 payments), or one-time cash lump sum.

The golden ticket was sold at the Stop & Shop located at 44 Lake Avenue Ext., in Danbury. The winning card was one of the 46,041 winning tickets sold for the Friday Lotto jackpot drawing, but the only one featuring the numbers that mattered: 1 – 9 – 10 – 15 – 41 – 43. For its part in selling the winning ticket, that Stop & Shop location will receive a $10,000 retailer commission.
