4 Danbury Dogs to Compete in Puppy Bowl

The Danbury Animal Welfare Society entered a total of 25 puppies​ into the annual competition, and four were chosen.

DANBURY, CT — Four local dogs have made the cut and have been named to the Animal Planet Puppy Bowl team.

The Danbury Animal Welfare Society entered a total of 25 puppies into the annual competition, and four were chosen. They're not part of the starting team, but will likely see some on-air action as substitutes. All four also made the big time Friday morning, when they were featured on CNN's New Day on Friday.

The Puppy Bowl, now in its 15th year, is television's preeminent four-pawed precursor to the Super Bowl, and will kick-off at 3 p.m on Animal Planet on the afternoon of the Big Game.

One lucky dog will be chosen as MVP — Most Valuable Puppy — after an afternoon of fur- and fun-filled events like wrestling and chew-toy chasing.
