4 Danbury Kitchens Failed Health Inspection in June
It's not the first time on the list for one of the establishments.
DANBURY, CT — Four food service establishments in Danbury failed health inspections in June, according to the city's Department of Health and Human Services.
It is not the first time on the list for Mill Plain Diner, which earned an automatic failure for a food temperature violation. The diner was cited last month as well. Both times, the eatery was back in business after paying the $250 fine and being given the opportunity to fix their problems.
Mezon Tapas Bar & Restaurant on 56 Mill Plain Road also earned an automatic failure for improper food temperatures, as did Padaminas NY Bakery II located at 58 Main Street. Brookside Residential Care Home at 34 Franklin Street Ext failed on points.

Health inspectors rate commercial kitchens monthly on a 100-point scale in areas such as the availability of suitable hand cleaners and dry towels, whether potentially hazardous food is properly thawed, whether the mats are clean and in good repair, and dozens more. A restaurant must score 80 points or better to pass. Some violations, such as those surrounding the temperature at which food is stored, can result in automatic failures.
Restaurants that fail inspection are typically given 24 hours to remedy their problems and must pay a $250 fine. All Danbury restaurants that failed in June have since passed re-inspection and are back in business.
